We are looking for a highly organized and sales-driven Flagship Store Manager
to lead the launch and operations of our upcoming Paris store. This pivotal role will be instrumental in building and managing our French retail team, while also enhancing Marimekko’s brand presence and positioning on the French market.
As the Flagship Store Manager, you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional retail experience that resonates with our fashion-forward target audience. You will lead the execution of our flagship retail concept in Paris, inspiring both customers and your team through a deep understanding of our brand and values.
You will work in close collaboration with our Head of Retail – Scandinavia/EMEA and North America, Regional Area Manager – Scandinavia/EMEA as well as with our Merchandising Planner and Marketing/PR Managers both globally and locally.
This is a full-time and permanent position, in which you will report to Regional Area Manager – Scandinavia/EMEA.
Job responsibilities:
1) Promote community building and brand awareness efforts, including:
- Managing Marimekko’s flagship retail store brand activities and execution according to the global and local plan creating and fostering exceptional customer experience
- Organize and project manage monthly brand activities and events together with global and local marketing partners
- Create awareness building opportunities through compelling outreach to prospective partners, influencers and creative industry professionals, utilizing innovative and creative brand and sales tactics
- Be a Marimekko ambassador: establish, nurture, and grow local consumer community through new customer acquisition tactics, relationship building and partnerships anchored in Marimekko's community program
2) Create a team of brand ambassadors that embody Marimekko brand values and DNA
3) Responsibility for all store operations, including:
- Sales Leadership (e.g., motivate and lead the sales team and strive for sales excellence and results)
- Sales Associate Development (e.g., ensure all staff are trained in product knowledge, selling standards, customer service, and store operations)
- Operational Excellence (e.g., create and maintain effective employee schedules, including hiring efforts)
- Store Standards and Visual Merchandising (e.g., execute all floor moves, visual directives, and merchandising strategies)
In order to succeed in the role, you have/are:
- Experience in retail management
- Proven track record in building high achieving teams
- Interest in art, architecture and fashion, with a strong professional network within these communities
- Ability to be a Marimekko Brand Ambassador in actions, attitude, and appearance
- Proactive and hands-on
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Fluency in French and English
- Ability to multitask and handle different projects at the same time
- Able to work flexible work hours (including evenings, nights, and weekends sometimes)
